Morning Goddess

Drawing and painting are not my strong suits.  I acknowledge this.  However, it does not keep me from playing with paint and whipping out a set of pencils now and then.  As I repeatedly tell my daughter, "Just because you aren't good at something doesn't mean you can't enjoy it."

Occasionally I am inspired to grab a canvas board, a sponge, a brush and some paint and let my inner goddess guide me.  I play around with blending and mixing.  Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes you recall lines from a poem you wrote long ago and decide that they'd be perfect written on the canvas.

she awakens to the light of the rising sun
exposing the shadows of unspoken thoughts
"Gremlins be gone!" she commands with a smile
as she raises her arms and stretches her mind

It is a gentle reminder to shut that inner tape player off.  To quiet the gremlins lurking in the darkness and let the sun shine light on that negative inner voice that keeps you stuck in the shadows of unspoken thoughts.  You know how much that Chatty Patty likes to keep you swimming in a pool of doubt, insecurity and fear.  She doesn't like it when you shed light on her thoughts and choose to transform your thinking.

It is a gentle reminder to Open yourself up to the possibility and joY a new day brings.  Let the light in.  Be open to yourself; open to joy; open to creating the kind of day you will have.  Be open to the moment; open to love; open to life.  Raise your hands, spread your arms, stand on your tip-toes and s-t-r-e-t-c-h.  Lift your face to the sun.  Feel the warmth of its rays caress your cheeks, inhale the air, listen to the tree branches sway in the breeze, release your intention and open yourself up to the Universe.

Now...have a beautiful day.
